Eligibility

Any current member twenty-one (21) years of age or older of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW, DAV, AMVETS, VVA, or any other legitimate VSO including British or Canadian Veterans, is eligible to play. The general public is not eligible to participate.

Game Setup & Fairness

The game starts with 54 cards (including the Jokers) sealed in numbered envelopes (1–54) and locked in the cabinet inside Post 107, Phoenix, AZ. A full deck is verified before sealing. Cards are shuffled and scrambled face-down, then sealed and numbered under witness verification and camera view for transparency.

Anyone involved in the pre-game process (sealing, numbering, or placing envelopes) cannot play in that game. Witnesses who do not handle the cards may still participate.

Ticket Prices

• $5 — 1 ticket
• $10 — 3 tickets
• $20 — 7 tickets
• (Game #2 Sun-Fri 10 tickets $ 20.00, no other special sales)

Ticket Sales & Drawing

Tickets can be purchased immediately after the Saturday night drawing up to 7:45 PM the following week. The drawing takes place at approximately 8:00 PM or as soon as possible afterward. Only one name may appear per ticket. Altered or defaced tickets will be discarded if drawn.

Ticket Completion & Selection

Participants must legibly write their name (as shown on their membership card), phone number, and desired number (1–54). If absent during the draw, an assigned Legionnaire or AOSC member will reveal the indicated number. If no number is listed, a random available number will be chosen. Winners must claim prizes within 30 days, or funds revert to the Post (60% SAL / 40% pot)*.

Weekly Draw

Each Saturday, one ticket is drawn. The chosen card is revealed, displayed, and removed from play. All tickets are discarded after each drawing; new tickets are sold for the next week.

Half-Deck Bonus

When half the cards have been revealed, an additional $25 bonus ticket is drawn. The winner must be present to claim the prize.

Payout Schedule

Taxes & Prize Collection

All winners are responsible for applicable taxes. W-2G forms are issued for prizes of $600 or more. Federal withholding (25%) applies to winnings over $6,000. Winnings under $600 are paid in cash; higher prizes are paid by check.

Committee Oversight

All winning tickets must be verified by a member of the AOSC and two additional witnesses. The AOSC retains final authority over any rule interpretation or dispute.
